How did you first hear about CDHR?: My daughter was working on her volunteer school hours.
When and why did you start volunteering for CDHR?: I rode horses when I was younger and always loved horses. I’ve always been very passionate about them. I’ve been a volunteer for almost six years now and I love every minute of it!
What's the most rewarding aspect of being a CDHR volunteer?: I have a sense of peace and calmness. I don’t think about anything but the horses while I am there...nothing else in the world matters when I am beyond those gates.
Do you have a favorite CDHR horse and why?: Gulliver of course! I felt an immediate connection the first time I saw him. He is so big and strong, yet soft and gentle. His personality is amazing and he is so very smart. Gully has a way of making me laugh and even cry. He is so very special! I can not put in words how much I love this boy.
