Betsy Ross
(Adopted January 2024)
Age: 18
Breed: Percheron
RESCUED: 6/30/23 Saved from an auction in PA
GENDER: Mare
HOOVES: Stands for farrier with sedation
MEDICATIONS: None
Suitable for: A gentle home with someone who will put in time to build trust and a relationship with her and not push her to do anything. Betsy needs to feel secure in a safe place while helping her build more confidence. She has already made progress and we’re excited to see how she blossoms and thrives in her forever home.
Enjoys: She enjoys not being the center of attention. She likes to do things when she is ready and comfortable with the situation. She is a very quiet mare and bottom of the pecking order. She finds comfort in her herd mates.
Working on: Betsy is very shy and not very trusting. Imagining all she had been through, we give her the time and space she needs to make her way back to her heart in order to connect with others. She has come a long way, and every day seems more open to trust.
