Hello My Name is Callie.
ADOPTED JULY 2021!

Have you ever met a magical horse? I am the horse that little girls dream about having. People say I’m magical. I’ve been told I might be part unicorn. Not only am I absolutely beautiful (I hate to brag, but I am)- but I’m also kind, friendly, and easy-going. I’d say I’m elegant yet approachable. I would love to find my forever home as a companion horse with someone who wants to just love on me. A girl can dream.

Callie (ADOPTED)
Age: 24
Height: 16.1hh
Breed: Shire Mare

Health & Care: Allergic to insects- wears fly protection clothing and takes antihistamines during warm seasons.

Hooves:
Barefoot, stands for farrier, hooves and heels need close attention and need to be kept dry.

Suitable For: A loving and gentle home where she can comfortably live out the rest of her years as a beautiful and affectionate companion. Callie is not sound for riding or driving. Due to her previous battle with canker, as well as being a feathered breed, Callie needs a home with excellent mud management practices and meticulous hoof care.

Enjoys: Pampering of any and all sorts, grooming, bathing, dressing up, being fancy, scratching her belly on the ground, being the stoic lead mare, making mare faces, cuddling.

Working On: Becoming even more beautiful!

FUN FACT: The Shire horse, developed in England, traces it’s history to the days of the Roman Conquest and is one of the oldest of the well-defined draft breeds. The name “Shire” also comes from England, and derives its name from the Saxon word “schyran,” which means to shear or divide, hence the name “Shire,” that is synonymous with county. King Henry VIII first applied the name “Shire” to the horse early in the 16th century. Read more about this breed here.
