Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue (CDHR) is committed to providing each horse we rescue the best possible care. This is made possible only through the generous support and financial donations of our caring donors. We rely solely on generous donations from individuals, corporate and foundation gifts, and grants. Without our generous supporters, CDHR would simply not be able to care for the draft horses in our care. On average the annual cost to maintain a draft horse can range from $3600 to $6000+ each depending upon their needs, as well as the cost to maintain our farm. We are a 100% volunteer-run organization with no paid staff.
