Hello, My Name is Beau.
ADOPTED APRIL 2021

I’m a relatively new horse at Autumn Ridge. I was surrendered when my owners were no longer able to care for me due to age and illness. I’m a very easy going fella and I I love taking naps in the sun and hanging with my new friends and paddock mates, Spencer and Bob. I’m truly a ‘gentle giant,” and love attention, scratches, and ear rubs.

Beau
Age: early 20s
Height: 17hh
Breed:

Belgian Gelding

Health & Care: No medical issues. Beau is a riding and driving gelding around 20 years old that was surrendered with a pair of Belgians. The former owners are heartbroken but they are both in poor health and cannot care for them any longer; they thought their only options were euthanasia or auction. Luckily, a friend of CDHR connected the owners with us and we were able to assist and rescue all three Belgians.

Hooves:
Stocks for farrier

Suitable For: Beau is relatively new to Autumn Ridge and we are still assessing Beau - please contact us for details.

Enjoys: Scratches and love. He’s an easy-going, beautiful boy.

Working On: No issues. Under assessment with our trainer.

Fun Fact: Belgian horses are one of the largest draft horse breeds that exists in the world today. They are known for the large, muscular necks and mild temperament. Brooklyn Supreme, who is one of the largest Belgian horses on record to date, stood at 19.2 hands and weighed a total of 3,200 pounds.
